Ephesians 3:17
"That Christ may dwell in your hearts"
Paul wrote this passage to believers. Why did He pray that Christ would dwell in their hearts? His prayer was not for the indwelling of Christ to take place (if they were indeed already saved, this indwelling was already taking place). Rather he was praying for the quality of this indwelling.
He was urging the Ephesian believers (and through inspiration, us as well) to examine our relationship with the Lord. Christ is dwelling in our hearts. What is the quality of this indwelling? Is Christ a welcome guest? Is He welcome into every "room" of our hearts? Or are there certain areas of our hearts that are unsurrendered? Are there rooms in which He is not welcome?
Let Christ have full access to every area of your life. Give him the key to every room of your heart.
